Phase 2.2 of Bella Factionum is out!
Here is the Changelog:
- Smarter AI
- Updated AI logic to factor in new Healing, Disorganization, Investment Ability Systems
- Defensive AIs double the penalty for distances to points, to not overextend themselves
- Instead of the AI Randomly picking 10% of ALL points on the map, sending them in random directions, AIs now sample points in a radius around one of their bases, with a chance to either increase this radius or switch to a different base (if any) when all points in the Radius belong to them
- If an AI has bases, it'll sample a random point each tick, and if there are squads there over some "desired" amount determined by the AI's personality, it'll regroup the squads back to one of its bases, ameliorating the issue of AIs sending tons of Squads to non-base Points and them being stuck there forever
- Depending on the Gamerule (see later) for cooldown for Squads Spawning, AIs will favor bases more or less
- Changed Abilities
- Healing Ability:
- The Healing Ability has a lot more guaranteed health - instead of giving between 0 and 200 health when used, it gives between 100 and 200 health
- You can now heal hostile squads using Healing - this could be useful to potentially help an enemy faction weaken one that is attacking you. I also use it to heal an enemy Squad before destroying it, to really rub it in...
- You can now "overheal" your (not enemy) squads - when overhealed, Squads' health will gradually go back down to their maximum, and any overhealing is divided by 2 (so if you overheal by 200, only 100 health is gained)
- To balance all of the above, lowered the radius of the Healing Ability
- The Investment Ability has to be used on a specific base, which gives the Faction controlling it (doesn't have to be yours - you can help an enemy Faction if you need to!) 1000 Resources
- The Disorganization ability no longer has any restrictions:
- You can use it on yourself (which means you must be careful when using it on points near yours)
- You can use it on points that are already disorganized
- You can use it on empty points (if you can't have them, no one can!)
- Healing Ability:
- New Customization
- New Gamerules
- You can customize the Multiplier to a Squad's Possible damage when supported by a Support Point (default is 2x)
- You can customize how much Resources a Resource Point gives (default is 10) per tick
- You can set the Cooldown for Factions attempting to Spawn Squads (default is 10 - set to 1 for same system as earlier Phases)
- When a Squad encounters multiple hostile Squads at once, you can set how it chooses which one to attack:
- First (default) - it chooses the first one
- Random - it chooses randomly among its opponents
- In the Scenario Editor, you can set the exact number of Squads at any point, not just at Bases
- New Gamerules
- Quality of Life Features
- Several Improvements to the Map Editor:
- Holding down "B" inverts the color of obstacles from black to white (this is useful if they're above a dark part of the Map's Background Image)
- Holding down "R" draws a Squad graphic of fixed scale, so that you get an easy reference for whether a Squad will "fit through" any obstacles
- Gameplay QoL Improvements:
- Holding down CTRL and Right Clicking with one Squad Selected will leave that Squad behind if it is at a Point
- When you send a Squad to a specific position, they will end up there more accurately (instead of "overshooting" it - particularly a problem if your Faction has the "Fast Movement" Strength)
- You can now Right Click "inside" of another of your squads to send your Squad there, allowing for more granular placement
- Other:
- When searching for Factions/Maps/Scenarios to edit/delete, the search is now case-insensitive
- Several Improvements to the Map Editor:
- Graphical Improvements
- The radius of the Reinforcement Ability is now shown
- Squads' healthbars are now of a green-to-red gradient depending on their health
- Ingame, your Faction's Symbol is displayed in the top-left
- The radius of the Reinforcement Ability is now shown
- Bugfixes/Backend/Balance Changes
- Fixed Squads in different points close to a Base counting for its limit and stopping the Base from spawning more Squads
- Fixed Squads with Fast Attack Speed gaining XP Faster
- Support Points actually provide support now
- Higher-Veterancy Squads also have higher minimum damage
- Slightly optimized the Systems for seeing Squads and Points
